IMPORTANCE OF GOLDEN MILK

TURMERIC MILK:


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of Milk
  • 1/2 tsp. Ground turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of Pepper
  • 1 tbsp. Honey or Jaggery

Directions:

  1. Warm the milk, turmeric, cinnamon, pepper, and honey or jaggery in a small saucepan until it simmers hot.
  2. Whisk well to dissolve spices
Mechanism of action (Immune level):
  • A potent immunomodulatory agent 
  • It modulates the activation of T cells, B cells, macrophages, neutrophils, natural killer cells, and dendritic cells. 
  • Curcumin can also downregulate the expression of various proinflammatory cytokines including TNF, IL-1, IL-2, IL-6, IL-8, IL-12, and chemokines
  • which occurs through inactivation of the transcription factor NF-kappa B
  • Interestingly, however, curcumin at low doses can also enhance antibody responses.
