HERBAL STEAM INHALATION

INTRODUCTION:
  • Fear is a natural human response to any threat, especially when it’s a threat we don’t completely understand.
  • But as we get more data, we are understanding about corona virus, and the disease it causes, more and more.
  • People having cough or cold symptoms are somewhat scared in view of the COVID-19 outbreak.

  • People are so scared now even for simple cough,cold and throat pain as it is closely related COVID-19 symptoms.

  • And today,We are gonna see about the natural remedy to ease simple cough,cold,sneezing and throat pain with herbal steam inhalation.


INGREDIENTS:
  • Large Bowl
  • Hot water
  • Salt
  • Lemon 
  • Ginger
  • Tulsi
  • Neem leaves
  • Pinch of Turmeric powder
  • Pinch of Pepper powder
  • Towel 
DIRECTIONS:
  • Boil water at a high flame in a large bowl 
  • Add a pinch of Turmeric, Salt and pepper powder
  • Squeeze half lemon into it and add a piece of sliced and crushed ginger
  • Switch off the flame 
  • Crush the neem leaves or Tulsi leaves and add into the bowl
IMPORTANCE OF HERBAL STEAM:

Turmeric
  • It can help your body to neutralize free radicals such as superoxide, hydroxyl and hydrogen peroxide, and
  • Neutralizing these free radicals may help reduce inflammation in the lungs
  • It contains curcumin
  • Acting as an expectorant( Mucus clearance)

Lemon
  • Acts as an Potent Antioxidant
  • It contains citric acid
  • Reduces inflammation and Mucus production
  • This acid helps in breaking the phlegm 
  • Helps in detoxifying the lungs
  • Helps to quit smoking 
Ginger
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • It contains Gingerol
  • Clears toxin from respiratory tract
  • Improves Circulation to lungs 
Neem leaves
  • It contains nimbin and nimbinol
  • It has antibacterial, antiviral and antibiotic properties
  • Improves lung function
Tulsi leaves
  • It contains vitamin C , Camphene, Eugenol and Cineole
  • Relieves congestion
  • Facilitates smoother breathing 
Pepper
  • It contains capsaicin
  • helps  in stimulating secretions and 
  • protects mucus membranes from upper and lower respiratory tract. 
Salt
  • According to American Lung Association,inhaled salt could perhaps thin mucus in the airway, making it easier to expel.
  • Salt reduces inflammation and kills microbes in the lungs
  • Reduces the risk of infections.
MECHANISM OF ACTION:


 The warm,moist and herbal air is thought to work
          By loosening the mucus in the nasal               passages,throat, and lungs.

 This may relieve symptoms of inflamed, swollen blood vessels in your nasal passages.
